Usually, the performer is commonly known as comic, comedian, stand-up, stand-up comic, and stand-up comedian. In stand-up comedy, the performer utters a lot of cohesive humorous stories that are grouped together, along with some jokes and one-liner jokes called monologue, and the performer explains everything in a funny way, usually as a routine or by an act of using his imagination to picture it in his mind. Some stand-up comedy performers use music, magic tricks and props to ‘enhance' their performance.

These types of stand-up comedy show often organized and performed in comedy clubs, nightclubs, corporate events, bars and pubs, neo-burlesque, theaters, and colleges often as live performance, stand-ups are mostly commercially distributed and broadcasted through television, the internet, CD, and DVD. As the name suggests, ‘stand-up' comedy performers usually perform their material while standing on the stage, although it is not a rule. And stand-up comedies are known for the timings kept by the comedians, even the dialogues that are delivered in a timely interval in order to provide a sarcastic vibe among the audience.
